How often should I visit the Dentist and Dental Hygienist?
On average, we recommend having yearly check-ups with the Dentist and bi-yearly cleanings with the Dental Hygienist. Of course, every mouth is different and some people may require more frequent visits with their Dentist and/or Dental Hygienist. For example, people with gum disease may be recommended to return for cleanings every 3-4 months to maintain their oral health. Your Dentist and Dental Hygienist will determine what interval will best suit your dental needs.
How often should I brush and floss?
The Dental and Dental Hygiene Associations recommend brushing 2 times per day (once in the morning and once at night) for about 2 minutes, along with daily flossing. Again, every mouth is different and some people will need to brush and floss more, depending on their oral health. Your Dental Hygienist can provide further information and answer any questions you have about brushing and flossing.
What should I expect from my first visit to your office?
We provide a very comprehensive first visit. We enjoy educating our patients and offering you the information and tools you will need to reach your dental goals. Therefore, please expect to be at our office for about 2 hours for both a new patient dental check-up and dental hygiene cleaning. For further information, please see our New Patient page or contact the office.
At what age should I bring my child in for their first dental visit?
Children as young as 1 years old can visit our dental office! Even though they may not have many teeth, we love having kids in for a happy visit. We let them get familiar with the sights and sounds of the dental office and it allows them to understand that it is an important and fun visit. Please visit our New Patient page for further information or contact our office and we will gladly answer any questions you may have about your child’s first visit!
What should I do if I have an emergency dental need?
During office hours, please contact our office and our friendly receptionists will do their best to fit you into our schedule as soon as possible. We try to accommodate all patients as best as we can. If you have an emergency dental need after hours, please call our office and follow the prompts or go to your local emergency room.
What is your cancellation policy?
We require 1 business day or at least 24 hours of notice to reschedule your appointment. Fees may be applied if you cancel less than 1 business day (or less than 24 hours) in advance.
