New Patient Information

Your First Visit:

When you first arrive at Apollonia Dental Clinic, you will be greeted by our friendly staff.  Your dental team will conduct a very thorough examination on your first visit. We will do a variety of assessments such as taking a series of x-rays, photos, and doing an extra- and intra-oral examination to help develop a personalized treatment for your dental goals. Your dental hygienist will also conduct an assessment that will assess your gum health and provide treatments to help you reach your optimal oral health.

Your first experience can be up to 2 hours in length so that we can provide a thorough dental examination, dental cleaning, discuss your personalized treatment plan, and answer any questions that you may have.

If you arrive at our office under emergency circumstances, then our top priority will always be to help relieve you of any discomfort and develop a plan to make you feel better as soon as possible.  Every emergency case is different so we will assess your situation, do a very specific examination, and take x-rays as needed.

If you are a new patient, please download our new patient forms, print them at home to fill out beforehand and bring them with you to your visit. Alternatively, we will also have forms available at our front desk, we just kindly ask patients to arrive 15 minutes early to fill out the forms.

Your Child’s First Visit:

We recommend children as early as 1 years old to visit the dental office.  Even though they do not have many teeth at this time, it allows us to monitor their progression and provides us an opportunity to get to know your child.  In addition, being able to monitor your child’s oral health at an early age allows your dental team to provide early intervention for oral conditions and monitor things such as tooth development, tooth placement, problems with prolonged thumb sucking, airway concerns, etc. At your child’s first dental visit, we will try to take a look into their mouth, but ultimately, the goal is to just have them get comfortable in the dental office setting. We understand that it can be a stressful environment for children and we want them to have positive experiences here at Apollonia Dental Clinic!

Insurance & Payment Options

As a courtesy to our patients, we offer direct billing to your insurance company. Your dental coverage is dictated by your insurance company who sets amounts, limitations, and usage according to their plans. It is a contract between you, your employer, and your insurance company and does not involve your dental office or take your dental needs into consideration. There are many dental benefits plans with varying degrees of coverage and we highly recommend patients have an understanding of their own coverage. Each insurance company sets their own fee schedule and that may differ from the clinic fee schedule. You will be responsible for any fee differences that may occur.

Our office follows the Alberta Association Fee Guide. More information about this fee guide can be found at: https://www.cdsab.ca/dental-fee-guide/

We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Debit, and Cash for your dental treatment. If you have any further questions, please consult your dental insurance company or contact our office to talk to our knowledgeable administrative staff.

Cancellation Policy

We strongly believe in spending quality time with our patients in order to provide the best dental work that we can, and in order to do so, we reserve a special spot for each of our patients. This is time spent with the dentist, dental assistants or dental hygienist as well as a reserved operatory space. We kindly request that patients who cannot attend their scheduled appointment call our office at least 1 business day (or at least 24 hours) in advance to reschedule. As a courtesy to our patients, we will send reminder emails or text messages, or if you prefer phone calls, we will call 1-2 days prior. We require all patients to confirm their appointments and this can be done by email, text message or a simple phone call. Fees may be applied if you cancel less than 1 business day (or less than 24 hours) in advance.
