Stronger gel, and supervision. We check first that your teeth and gums can handle it, and the custom trays hold the gel against the teeth rather than letting it leak onto your gums. Results are more even and more predictable.
We offer ZOOM whitening both ways. In-office is faster and done in a single appointment. Take-home uses custom trays and gel over a couple of weeks, which some people find gentler and easier to fit around their routine. Both reach a similar result.
No. Whitening only affects natural tooth enamel. Any existing restorative work stays exactly the colour it is, which can leave a mismatch if you have visible crowns or fillings. Worth discussing before you start, since it may change the plan.
Some sensitivity during and shortly after treatment is common and usually settles within a few days. If you already have sensitive teeth, tell us. Whitening is not recommended for patients with significant sensitivity, decay, broken teeth or active gum disease.
Typically one to three years, depending on how much coffee, tea, red wine and tobacco your teeth are exposed to. Occasional top-ups with take-home trays will extend it.
